FAMILY SUPPORT

Fanconi Anaemia (FA) is a relatively rare condition.  FAmilies with children affected by this condition often feel very isolated.  It is very easy to feel that you are alone.  One of the most important things for for FAmilies in this position is to know that they are not alone; that there are other FAmilies, other children out there.

The main reason for setting up this new Charity is to support affected FAmilies.  We are hoping to establish a network for FAmilies to obtain and share information and experiences.

Nothing has been confirmed yet but we are hoping to run a FAmily Support weekend at the end of February 2010.  We are hoping to provide accommodation, meals and childcare.  This would allow FAmilies to meet in friendly, comfortable surroundings without any worries; knowing that younger children are being taken care of (by trained childcare professionals) and there may be a "teen" group, with arranged activities.

The "proper" website is currently being designed and will appear shortly.  This website has been put together quite quickly to get a web presence and begin offering information / contacts to those interested.
